Top 10 Most Beautiful Beaches in Croatia

Croatia – a dream destination of many Slovaks who just adore this country. Only last year, nearly half a million of them visited this sunny part of the world. The statistics don’t come as a surprise, Croatia is easy to get to, reasonably cheap and the locals like us. But this isn’t the real reason why we love this place so much. It’s the sea – pure azure and beautifully clean! And the beaches? Fantastic, see for yourself – the top 10 most beautiful beaches in Croatia.

1. Zlatni Rat, Bol, Brač Island

This is probably the most popular and beautiful beach in Croatia. It comes at a price though, as one is not able to enjoy a solitary swim anymore. However, despite the crowds, it is an amazingly beautiful beach.

2. Plaža Čista, Pag Island

A stunning sandy beach, situated between the towns of Kolan and Novalja. Sometimes, the sand may be replaced by pebbles, brought ashore by the rolling waves.

3. Stara Baška, Krk Island

You will fall head over heels in love with this place – a wonderful pebbly beach, hidden away and surrounded by steep cliffs. If you love windsurfing, this is the place to be. The winds are just perfect for some fun on the waves.

4. Sveti Ivan, Lubenice, Cres Island

The best access to this beach is by boat, so you shouldn’t leave it out if you are sailing around Croatia. There are hardly any tourists, just deserted sandy beaches and crystal-clear water.

5. Bilin Zal, Lumbarda, Korčula Island

The island of Korčula is often considered the most beautiful island in Croatia, its nickname is “little Dubrovnik”. And the best of Korčula can be found on the Bilin Zal beach, together with a superb view of the Croatian coast and the Pelješas peninsula.

6. Punta Rata, Brela

This white pebbly beach is part of the Makarska Riviera and is almost 2 km long. A truly quintessential piece of Croatia – a stunning beach surrounded by pine trees.

7. Kornati Islands, Central Dalmatia

A swim in the waters of the deserted Kornati Islands is an unforgettable experience.  The area is part of a national park, so you can visit the Islands on your own or during one of your optional trips. And it would be a good idea to have a go at scuba diving.

8. Sunj, Lopud Island

On Tripadvisor, visitors to this island call this beach the most tranquil bay, ideal for snorkelling. The water is fairly shallow, making it perfect for families with children.

9. Saplunara, Mljet Island

The name Saplunara comes from Latin, meaning tiny sand. Need we say more?

10. Stiniva, Vis Island

The name of this beach is a little different to the others. You will understand if you come here at night. In the moonlight, the beach looks as if it were covered with silver.
